IB Dutch A: Literatuur SL

In the IB-DP, students can choose the Dutch A program, standard level: Literature SSST (School Supported Self-Taught Program). This is a two-year program and is not offered during the school day. The student prepares for the exam through self-study under the guidance of an external World Wide IB Dutch tutor.

The World Wide IB Dutch program fully aligns with the curriculum and final objectives of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The teaching materials we developed are efficient, varied, and flexible:

  • We prepare our students for the fixed exam components of the IB Dutch A Literature course by offering optimal guidance for each part.
  • We make extensive use of various media: a radio interview with an author, a short TV segment, a relevant magazine article, online programs, and materials.
  • The students have a weekly online session with their tutor.
  • The program is tailored and can be adjusted to the student’s level and/or interests. An important component is the weekly feedback, which contributes to personal guidance.

We challenge students to develop and articulate their ideas as precisely as possible. Through the intensive guidance we provide, we can closely monitor progress and adjust or refine as needed.

Dutch for IB World Schools

When Dutch is not integrated into an IB World School, students at an IB World School can choose to work towards the Dutch A: Literature SL exam. The certified teachers at World Wide IB Dutch, in consultation with the IB World School, have developed an individual program to support the SSST principle. The student studies Dutch completely independently, while World Wide IB Dutch guides and supports them.
